1.1 liters chicken stock
2 medium onions, peeled and finely chopped
255g dried spaghetti, broken into about 2.5cm lengths
4 large handfuls of freshly podded peas
a small handful of fresh flat leaf parsley, chopped
olive oil
optional: 1 sprig each of fresh mint, basil and rosemary
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
