garlic (or 2 4 tablespoons of diced garlic from the jar You can adjust to taste.)

olive oil (can use vegetable oil if you prefer)

sliced mushrooms(optional)
stewing beef, cut in cubes(optional)
sweet basil
thyme
tomato paste (I prefer Contadina)
tomato sauce
tomatoes (Use what you prefer, but I like the diced Italian Seasoning type)
